The sixteen types

Four preferences, sixteen combinations. Read them as descriptions of tendencies, not as boxes — most people recognise themselves strongly in one and a little in a neighbour or two.

Why each emblem looks the way it does

The marks are not arbitrary. Each of the four preferences controls one part of the drawing, so a type's emblem is a picture of its letters:

E / I

Extraverts throw their satellites outward past the ring and connect them back to the centre. Introverts hold fewer of them inside it.

S / N

Sensors get a straight-edged polygon. Intuitives get arcs that curve and never quite close.

T / F

Thinkers are drawn in diamonds and points. Feelers are drawn in circles.

J / P

Judgers get a closed ring with everything aligned to it. Perceivers get a broken ring and pieces that sit slightly off it.
